During your session
We begin with an Intake conversation establishing the context of the story of your body: what do you do – work, sports? At what level? How often? etc
It is followed by a hands-on physical assessment using palpation and NeuroMuscular Reprogramming (NMR) and its resisted movement technique.
Based on the findings and your personal preferences, I will use advanced bodywork techniques (such as deep tissue massage, myofascial and trigger point release techniques, Active Isolated Stretching, Swedish massage, etc) and Pilates (using the latest Balanced Body Pilates equipment) to work on those areas identified via the resisted movements as inhibiting other movements.
Your body is then retrained (reprogrammed) by repeating those resisted movements so it experiences how it moves more easefully and without pain. The changes are further integrated by using specific Pilates exercises to let the body experience the changes in mobility.
After your session
At the end of your session, we go over how your body might feel over the next 24 – 48 hours as it is further integrating the changes we made. As appropriate, we review any stretches or exercises that would be helpful for you to do between sessions to build on the work we did during your session.
