What To Expect > In Your Session

During your session

We begin with an Intake conversation establishing the context of the story of your body: what do you do – work, sports? At what level? How often? Are you currently experiencing any pain or discomfort? When? How often? How intensely? etc (note: it is most helpful to come prepared with the Intake form completed prior to your first session. Click here to download it. )

It is followed by a hands-on physical assessment using active and passive movement as well as palpation and NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) aka NeuroMuscular Reprogramming (NMR).

Based on the findings and your personal preferences, I will use advanced bodywork and soft tissue techniques, Z-Health drills, or Pilates (using the latest Balanced Body Pilates equipment) to address and resolve those issues identified during the assessment.

Your body is then retrained (reprogrammed) by repeating specific assessments, Z-Health drills and Pilates movements so it experiences how it moves more easefully and without pain.

After your session

At the end of your session, we go over how your body might feel over the next 24 – 48 hours as it is further integrating the changes we made. As appropriate, we review any homework stretches or exercises that will be instrumental for you to do between sessions to build on the work we did during your session.
